The Universality of Islam
by: Prof. Abdullah H. Al-Kahtany
The beauty of Islam as the only truly universal alternative and choice of way of life for humanity has been misrepresented because of some of the un-Islamic malpractices that some Muslims display. This has resulted in misconceptions of the truth of Islam presented and delivered by people of little knowledge about Islam, or through their own prejudiced views. The rise in occurrance of varied forms of terrorism under the name of Islam is only one example of the manifestation of this concept.
This book presents the true Islamic principles of equality, tolerance and solutions to the multiple problems facing humanity today. In addition, this book examines the Islamic position towards sciences and advancements, comparing to numerous contemporary ideologies and religions that aspire to or claim universality, but truly are lacking thereof. In conclusion, the major inherent principles of Islam are shown as they are part and parcel of its teachings for the betterment and benefit of humanity – as Islam is a way of life, not merely a religion as is the case with all other world religions.
This book confirms that the universality of Islam is an undeniable fact, a characteristic peculiar to Islam, the Righteous Religion. Allah sent Muhammad as a prophet and messenger to the entire mankind, revealing him His noble book to be a means of guidance and reminder to all humanity. It was the will of Allah, the Almighty, to make the Islamic message the seal of revealed messages, which gives it profound importance.
